在胡耀邦同志60年的革命生涯中,他先后在红军、苏区及建国后做青年工作共33年,是我们党的干部中做青年工作时间最长、建树最多的一个人。耀邦同志1915年出生于湖南浏阳县阳南乡中和村一个贫农家庭,念过私塾、高小,大革命时期参加过童子军。1930年春,浏阳县立初级中学停办,读着初二的耀邦加入了共产主义青年团,任儿童团长。1931年初,他赴江西中央革命根据地工作,先任红军某通讯连号手,后做共青团领导工作。1932年秋任苏区反帝总同盟青年部长。1935年参加
During his 60-year revolutionary career, Comrade Hu Yaobang has worked for 33 years as a youth worker in the Red Army, the Soviet Union and after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He is the longest-serving and most accomplished one among our party cadres doing youth work. Comrade Hu Yaobang was born in 1915 in a poor peasant family in Zhonghe Village, Yangnan Township, Liuyang County, Hunan Province. He studied private school, was tall and small and participated in the Boy Scouts during the Great Revolution. The spring of 1930, Liuyang County primary middle school closed, read the first two Yaobang joined the Communist Youth League, served as child leader. At the beginning of 1931, he went to work in the revolutionary base area of Jiangxi Central Committee.
