曲节草首载于宋·苏颂《本草图经》,称本品“味甘,平,无毒。活发背疮,消痈肿,拔毒。”本品又名绿豆青、蛇蓝、六月冷。李时珍《本草纲目》收载本品时又加入“六月霜”一别名,并将原别名六月冷改为六月凌。关于本品的原植物,日本《头注国译本草纲目》及《本草纲目的植物》均称不明。然而《中药大辞典》在白马骨条却收有曲节草及六月冷二别名,注出《岭南采药录》。很明显,《岭南采药录》是将曲节草当作白马骨Serissa Serissoides(DC·)Druce,但该书却未注明曲节草、六月冷二名源出《本草图经》。

Obviously, the “Lingnan Herb Collection” uses the song festival Serissa Serissoides (DC) Druce as the white horse’s bone, but the book does not indicate that the song festival grass, June cold two originated the “draft of this sketch.”
