台湾学者林芳谷对大陆人常挂在嘴上的“搞”字很不以为然。因为这个“搞”字“在台湾不仅是‘俚语’,还带有一定的贬义”。林先生承认大陆与台湾语境的差异,因而又说“大陆这个习惯用语有它的历史背景,我能谅解”。
Taiwanese scholar Lam Fong-koo disagreed with the “engaging” word that mainland people often talk about. Because this “doing” word “is not only ’slang’ in Taiwan, it also carries a certain degree of derogatory meaning.” Mr. Lin acknowledged the differences between the context of mainland China and Taiwan and therefore added that “this idiom in the Mainland has its historical background and I can understand it.”
