游凤林寺记凤凰山又名凤林山。据凤林寺的碑文介绍,东晋时,有二僧乘舟南下,经此山下,船覆落水,金银珍宝化为一只凤凰飞落山上,僧人遂不南下,即山建寺,于是山、寺均以凤林为名。但《仙传拾趣》另是一番说法:有一个蔡姓襄阳女子,幼而巧慧,善刺绣。有一天来了一个老翁,请她绣一对凤凰,要求不要绣凤凰的眼睛,不久绣成,五彩焕然,老翁观之,指示安眼,俄而工毕,双凤腾跃飞舞。于是老翁与女子各乘一凤而去,时时降于南山林木之上,时人称此山为凤林山。2002年3月23日,凤林寺重修落成,我去参加开光典礼。大
