In this experiment, the effects of sodium fluoride on five different serotypes of Streptococcus mutans related to the prevalence of dental caries in children in China were studied in terms of growth, acid production and glucosyltransferase. The results showed that lactic acid was the main sugar of bacteria Fermentation end products, sodium fluoride inhibition of bacterial lactic acid production and inhibition of bacterial growth intensity is proportional to its concentration, and inhibition of the former is far stronger than the latter. 240ppm fluoride ion can completely inhibit bacterial growth. The glucosyltransferase, fluoride ion seems to have reached a certain concentration threshold had a significant effect, the threshold between different strains are different.
