一、前言光纤通信是英国伦敦大学毕业的华人——高锟于1966年提出的。1970年美国康宁公司制出0.8~0.9μ波段传输损耗为20dB/Km的光纤,标志着光纤通信研制工作的开始。1974年贝尔实验室制出了1.06μ损耗1dB/Km的光纤。1976年日本制出了波长1.3μ损耗0.5dB/Km的光纤。1978年制出了波长1.55μ损耗低到0.2dB/Km的光纤。1980年制出了0.9~1.8μ整个波段损耗均在1.5dB/Km以下的光纤。光纤通信的最佳光源——半导体激光器的研究也步步紧跟,有所突破。1970年,在短波长0.8~0.9μ波段上使用的GaAs/GaAlAs双异质结激光器实现
I. Introduction Optical fiber communication is a Chinese who graduated from the University of London in the United Kingdom - Charles Kao was put forward in 1966.
