“卑鄙是卑鄙者的通行证,高尚是高尚者的墓志铭。”人活在这世界上,总不能拿墓志铭开路,需要用通行证时就得用。在单位里,在社会上,牛春岭基本在往德才兼备的路上走,但在没人知道的时候,他也会拿出通行证来用一用。牛春岭是家中唯一的男娃,上有两个姐姐,小时候不但没病没灾,而且颇具天资,肯读书,十来岁就被村里人称为“秀才一枝花”。他也胸怀大志,下决心要飞出这封闭落后的穷山村。他的目标是上北大,结果只考上北京一所普通高校,读了四年,被分配到边远少数民族省区一所大学当老师。在大学干了几年,发现当大学老师的日子不过尔尔,其实,让他失望的是他到城市这些年没找到两情相悦的另一半,他的生活始终处于一种凑合、不安稳的状态。他决定考研,下课后他就集中精力备考。这次目标还是北大,仍没考上,但成绩还不错,辗转托人帮忙,被一所外省高校录取了。
