Objective To investigate the effect of local vibration on peripheral nerve function and peripheral vascular function in workers. Methods The median nerve conduction velocity and the amplitude of action potential were measured by vibration workers. The temperature of the skin of workers’ hands was restored by cold water test at 10 ℃ for 10 minutes. Results The sensory nerve and motor nerve conduction velocity in the median nerve of the white matter group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P <0.01). Before and after the cold water test, the hand temperature of the white matter group was significantly lower than that of the vibration-receiving group and the control group (P < 0 0 1). After the cold water test, the rewarming rate of white finger group and vibration group were significantly lower than that of the control group (P <0.05, P <0.01). There was a significant positive correlation between working age and nerve conduction velocity and rewarming rate after cold test (P <0.05). Conclusion Arm vibration can cause peripheral nerve and peripheral vascular function impairment of workers, which aggravates with the prolongation of the vibration duration
