基本情况沈阳市植物园位于沈阳市东郊,距市中心24公里,东连抚顺市,南接沈通公路,西邻东陵,北靠辉山风景区.总面积2310亩,绿地面积2100余亩.该园地处长白山系,天柱山山脉的延伸部分,地势为起伏多变的丘陵地带,海拔最高109米,最低88米,自然沟壑17处,依地势人工改造湖泊6处,有水面6万余平方米,园内土层深厚,土质为森林灰化土和重粘土,pH值在6-7之间.植物园年平均温度7.8℃,最高33.3℃,最低-30.6℃.平均无霜期为158天左右,年降雨量600-800毫米.
