Feng Gensheng is a non-generational apprentice of Hu Qingyu, a well-known century-old shop in Hangzhou. He has served as chief and workshop director. In 1972, when he was 37 years old, he was ordered to expand Hu Qingyutang’s workshop on the outskirts into Hangzhou No. 2 Traditional Chinese Medicine Factory and acted as the director of the plant. Feng Gensheng and other factory leaders led the entire factory staff through 16 years of hard work and struggle to transform the original old, backward-looking small workshop into computer management. The plant and equipment are advanced. The bad environment is like the modern factory of the hotel and becomes the modern Chinese medicine industry in China. The key enterprises have created the “Four Treasures” fist product that is renowned at home and abroad. In 1987, the total industrial output value reached 115 million yuan, becoming the first in the Chinese medicine industry in China.
