驾车驶过南浦大桥进入浦东新区中部,就可见到一片新颖别致的现代化建筑群,这就是上海市金桥出口加工区。该区建于1990年9月,是经国家批准的第一个以“出口加工区”命名的重点开发区。规划面积19平方公里,其中工业区约15平方公里,管理中心区及生活住宅区约4平方公里。截至1995年7月底,开发区累计引进项目269个,其中开工项目171个,投资项目94个;累计吸收投资35.2亿美元,平均每个项目的投资额超过1300万美元;1994年区内工业总产值达54亿元,1995年将超过100亿元。
