国石不宜拘限品种,更不宜罕见。我主张以软玉作为国石,而非指硬度在4度以上的玉石类。我同意亦木同志的提法,即翡翠(硬玉)不宜做国石,因它主要产于缅甸而不产于中国。但我不意亦木以白玉为国石,因白玉罕见,而且过于珍贵而难得,实属“国宝”。张庆麟同志建议“田黄”可为国石,笔者认为田黄虽享有“石帝”之称,并有“隆冬季节,印泥冻结,田石盖之,印泥即解”的传说,
