The extraction-migration-precipitation of platinum group elements and gold from late magmatic hydrothermal fluids is considered as an important mechanism for the formation of platinum-rich elemental deposits. Recently, the Soviet Union and Canadian scholars conducted a related experimental study. The results show that the distribution coefficients of platinum group elements and gold between hydrothermal fluids and silicate melts are much less than their partition coefficients between sulphide liquefaction and silicate melts.
