中央决定:九月十日为我国的教师节。这意味着教师社会地位的提高和党中央对教师职业的充分重视。同时有关人士和教育部门也提出了教师要“三自”的口号,其中最有现实意义的似乎是“自强”,这一点直接地关系到教学与教育成效的提高。一辈子从事教育事业,永无休止地自强不息,千方百计地提高教学质量——这应该是每位教师的终身志向。下面这篇文章介绍一位饱经战火的苏联姑娘把自己的一生一世献身于乡村教育事业的感人事迹。在精神方面,在教学实践方面,都有许多东西,堪称“它山之玉”。译文较长,又不忍删减,故分两期刊载。
