现在日本高炉能耗约占整个炼铁工序的70%,希望能有更低能耗的新炼铁方法。为此日本东京工业大学大学院理工学研究科石崎幸太郎等试验开发了用微波加热的低温、高速制铁方法。试验把磁铁矿系铁矿粉、煤粉和造粒粘合剂混合物用造球机制成球团,球团原料混合比(重量百分比)为铁矿石76.1%、煤21.9%、造粒粘合剂2.0%,球团粒度为10、15、20mm三种。
