如果我们把伦理学理解为意在说明何为正确、何为错误行为的理论,那我们就无法赞成当代哲学界近年来普遍认同的伦理学理论的“三分”格局,即“效果论”、“义务论”和“德性论”的三分主张。事实上,伦理学理论是“效果论”和“义务论”的二分。“德性论”只是义务论的一种形式,即与“以原则为基础的义务论”相对的“不以原则为基础的义务论”。而如果我们把伦理学理解为说明德性的道德价值的理论,把焦点集中在德性的价值问题,而不是关注正确行为的概念,那么,德性伦理学作为一种每个人都应该成为的某种人的理论便有了属于自己的理论空间。
