性别歧视是个存在很久的问题,从人类的文明开始就存在着。长期以来,女性一直被认为是感性、细腻、温柔、依赖性强的代表,而男性则典型的是理性、阳刚、大大咧咧的代表。传统的性别观严重压抑着女性身上的男性气质和男性身上的女性气质,阻碍了人的发展。本文从标记理论出发分析英语中的性别歧视现象。从历史、经济、家庭及社会等四方面分析了性别歧视的原因。现在人们已意识到性别歧视并开始着手解决这一问题,只要齐心协力,一定会最终解决这一社会问题。
Gender discrimination is a long-standing problem that has existed since the beginning of human civilization. For a long time, women have been regarded as representatives of sensibility, exquisiteness, gentleness, and strong dependence, while men are typical of rational, masculine, and embarrassing. The traditional concept of gender has severely suppressed the masculinity of women and the femininity of men, hindering the development of people. This article analyzes the phenomenon of gender discrimination in English from the perspective of mark theory. The reasons for gender discrimination were analyzed from four aspects: history, economy, family, and society. Now that people have become aware of gender discrimination and are beginning to address this issue, as long as they work together, they will surely resolve this social problem.
