郭家珍,女,1935年生,江苏省丹阳人,中国农业科学院蔬 菜花卉研究所研究员。郭家珍几十年如一日长期从事甜椒新品 种的选育研究,先后主持育成了“中椒4号”、“中椒5号”、“中椒 6号”、“中椒7号”等新品种,是甜辣椒选择育种领域-位功绩卓 著的品种培育科学家。 1972年,辣椒病毒病在全国蔓延,甜椒产量大幅度下降,原 本亩产量可达到三四千公斤,遭遇病毒病之后,仅能维持原先 10％的水平。加上甜椒原本抗病力不及辣椒,在部分病毒病严重 肆虐的地区甚至出现了绝收的现象。鉴于这种情况,1974年郭 家珍开始了新-代甜椒新品种选育的预备试验工作。 1977～1984年,经过多年的筛选观察,郭家珍与北京市海
