甜玉米,又称水果玉米,原产于美国,不同于普通的硬粒型玉米和糯玉米,是一个新的“甜型”玉米类型。是日本和欧美等国人民喜欢食用的一种副食品。近年来,国内部分省市科研单位着手研究,部分地区开始引种试验,示范推广。甜玉米以乳熟期的鲜穗供应市场为主,还可以将熟鲜穗软包装,乳熟期的籽粒加工罐头投放市场,对改善人民生活,增加农民经济收入,外销创汇,效益显著。
Sweet corn, also known as fruit corn, native to the United States, is a new type of “sweet” corn unlike ordinary hard corn and waxy corn. Japan and Europe and the United States and other countries like to eat a kind of non-staple food. In recent years, research institutes in some provinces and cities in China started to study and some regions began to introduce experiments and demonstration and promotion. Sweet corn is mainly supplied in the fresh milk supply market, and can be put on the market with soft-filled cooked ears and millet-ripened grain processed cans, which have significant benefits in improving people’s livelihood, increasing peasants’ economic income and earning foreign exchange.
