对于21世纪最大的争论是:地球上能否生产出足够的食物来养活另外几十亿人口?在这场大辩论中,研究土地管理的农学家和其他的科学家的回答是肯定的。他们需要更多的资金用于从事奶耕双用牛以及杂交马铃薯等各个领域的研究工作。而人口学家和一些社会科学家的回答则是否定的。他们认为唯一的办法是限制口粮供应。
The biggest debate of the 21st century is whether enough food will be produced on Earth to feed another billions of people. In this debate, the agronomists and other scientists who study land management answer in the affirmative. They need more money for research in various fields such as dairy cattle and hybrid potatoes. The demographers and some social scientists, the answer is no. They think the only way is to limit rations.
