HBV belongs to Hepadnaviridae and is a highly mutated DNA virus. HBV is divided into A-H8 major genotypes according to genomic nucleotide differences> 8%. Genotypes can be classified according to nucleotide differences> 4% and 8% divided into different subtypes. The high degree of variation in the HBV genome is due to the fact that HBV must be reverse-transcribed through a pre-genomic RNA (pgRNA) intermediate during replication and be responsible for the reverse transcription polymerase deficiencies
