The relationship between foreign direct investment and income distribution among host countries is studied from the perspectives of mathematics and measurement. In the mathematical analysis, a model of domestic-funded enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises has been established. Through the research, it is found that the income gap of the host country will widen as the scale of foreign investment in host countries expands. In the econometric analysis, this paper selects the empirical data of more than 20 years of reform and opening up in China, and selects the main factors that influence the income gap by the gradual elimination method. The results show that the influx of foreign capital has the greatest impact on the income gap between urban and rural areas, The second is the impact of the overall national income gap and the weakest of the rural income disparity. Finally, in view of the negative impact on the distribution of income brought by foreign capital, some policy suggestions on China’s investment promotion are put forward.
