一、为了较快地提高中学地理教学的质量,必须大力钻研中学地理教学中的少而精。因为少而精不但可以深化地理教学,减轻学生负担,加深心得;而且也是地理教学上的一大改革。然而什么是少而精?我国诸子百家之一老子说:“少则得、多则惑”。诚为精辟的解释。如用我国军事家的话说,即“削其十指不如断其一指”的意思。地理教学上的少,就是教师要讲少一些,使学生学好一些;精就是教师要抓住教材的中心、精华,要使学生学得精通之意。

If we use the words of our military strategists, it means that “it is better to cut its fingers than to break its fingers.” Less geography teaching means that teachers need to speak less to make students learn better; fineness means that teachers must grasp the center and essence of teaching materials and make students mastery of learning.
