In today’s fierce competition in the retail industry, the meaning of retailing is not limited to sales. Services have gradually emerged as an important factor in attracting consumers. The rapid development of the POS market enables retail organizations to have the opportunity to provide customers with more quality services and to obtain corresponding profits. Because there is no standard for POS, retailers have to rely on their own products, which limits the choice of POS system software and hardware. Therefore, the implementation of POS standardization has been put on the agenda. In December last year, Seiko-EPSON and Microsoft co-organized the “Open Retail Systems Symposium” to develop the role of the POS standard core organization and advance the POS standardization process for retail
