据路透社发自纽约的消息,三名美国记者由于揭露菲律宾前总统马科斯及其追随者贪污腐化获一九八五年度普利策国际新闻报道奖。这三名记者是路易斯·西蒙斯、皮特·卡瑞和凯塞琳·艾利森,他们同属于加利福尼亚州圣胡塞《信使新闻》报。一九八五年,他们发表了一系列报道,揭露马科斯夫妇及其同伙向国外转移财富。普利策奖评选委员会认为,这组报道直接影响了菲律宾政局的发展。
According to Reuters news sources from New York, three U.S. reporters won the Pulitzer Prize for International Press, 1985, for exposing the corruption of former Filipino President Marcos and his followers. The three journalists are Luis Simmons, Pete Carey, and Katherine Allison, all of whom belong to The Messenger News in San José, California. In 1985, they published a series of reports exposing the Marcos couples and their associates to transfer wealth abroad. Pulitzer Prize Selection Committee believes that this group of reports directly affect the political development in the Philippines.
