河北红星旅行车制造厂(以下简称红星)1960年始建于北京,前身是北京天和汽车维修厂,1970年搬迁至邢台县会宁,原系省属企业。总占地面积35万平方米,建筑面积7万平方米。拥有冲压、装焊、涂装、总装四大工艺基础,职工2709人,是国内影响较大的轻型旅行车生产厂家,中国第一辆旅行客车就是该厂于1966年开发生产的。历史上曾有过辉煌时期,为国家和地方经济的发展做出过很大贡献。但是在市场经济的冲击下,企业渐渐落伍,被迫走上了资产重组的道路。2003年12月5日,河北省人民政府将红星厂下划邢台市管理。2004年年初,在省、市政府关心与帮助下,通过吸引保定三家民营企业,参与红星重组,使企业重新焕发了生机。一、抓住历史机遇,使民企有序参与国企重组自1996年12月受省政府委托,以原邢台市经贸委牵头组建的工作组,为尽快盘活企业国有资产,消除社会不稳定
