Objective To understand the status of microbial contamination in domestic drinking water of Tianjin Railway Passenger Trains and to provide a scientific basis for the supervision and management of drinking water. Methods A total of 109 drinking water samples were randomly collected from passenger trains from 2010 to 2011. The microbiological indexes were tested. One of the total coliform bacteria, heat-resistant coliform bacteria using G B / T5750.12-2006 drinking water standard test method of multi-tube fermentation. Results The total number of colony, total coliforms and heat-resistant coliform bacteria were 5 5.96%, 95.41% and 97.25% respectively. There was a significant difference in the passing rate of drinking water in the two districts in Tianjin between the two regions (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in passing rate between train compartments (P> 0.05). Conclusion The microbial indicators of drinking water in train have different degrees of pollution. There are some hidden dangers in the safety of drinking water. Supervision and management of drinking water in train should be strengthened to avoid the occurrence and prevalence of intestinal infectious diseases.
