环境保护是我国的一项基本国策。加强环境教育是贯彻这一基本国策的基础工程。因此,我国把努力提高全民环境意识、加强环境教育列为“环境与发展”十大对策中的一项长期、战略性的任务。今天的青年是国家的未来,是自然环境的继承者,是21世纪的建设者,21世纪将是环境教育世纪,环境教育对青年来说尤为重要。我们有责任帮助他们认识环境与发展的辩证关系,帮助他们建立对环境的正确价值观,理解可持续发展政策,参与可持续发展行动。因此在图书馆工作中渗透环境教育,是图书馆不可推卸的责任。一、环境教育的涵义与重要性环境“是指人和生物周围的一切事物。这些事物能给人或生物以若干影响”。环境教育“是使人们掌握现代环境的基础知识,获得解决环境问题,优化环境的基本技能,养成正确认识环境、理解环境、保护环境以及处理环境问题的意识和能力,以推动人类社会可持续发展的教育”。环境教育包括环境意识、环境参与、环境态度、环境技能、环境知识五个
