USA Basketball Commanding American Basketball The United States joined FIBA in 1934. Authorized by FIBA, AAU is responsible for organizing the U.S. team to participate in international competitions (including the Olympic Games and the World Championships). Then the various basketball organizations in the United States to compete, want to get the FIBA and the United States Olympic Committee recognized in order to get the right to form a national team.
