邓小平主编《红星》报期间,《红星》报呈现出如下特色:一是重视党和红军的理论武装工作,有针对性地指导党和红军的理论学习。二是坚持正确的舆论导向,设法宣传毛泽东的正确路线。三是坚持围绕行军作战这一红军的中心工作开展宣传教育。四是重视对红军纪律和法制建设工作的宣传。五是重视红军的文化工作,活跃部队的文化生活。六是重视对军民关系工作的宣传,及时反映人民支持红军、红军热爱人民的军民关系。
