为了帮助同学们在通过国家四级英语考试之后进一步提高英语水平,我校开设了五、六级公共英语选修课,教材选用清华大学出版的《新英语教程》五、六册。这两本教材中所选的课文多为论说体散文,这些文章语言流畅、文笔犀利、比喻深刻,在思想内容方面也具有一定的深度。因此,同学们普遍感到要真正在深度和广度上理解这些文章,与作者的思维合拍,有一定的困难。下面笔者结合这类文章的特点,谈谈精读课教学中的一点体会。 论说体散文,其目的是劝说读者接受某种立场或观点或按某一方式行事的一种文体。它注重说理,以理服人,推理和逻辑性强、结构严谨、层次分明。正确理解这些课文有助于培养和增强学生的语感和对语言的逻辑思维能力。以下从几个方面谈一谈五、六级精读课的教学过程。
