The New Century Sino-US Earthquake Engineering Symposium was held in Beijing Xiyuan Hotel from November 8 to November 11, 2000. The purpose of the conference is to mark the twentieth anniversary of the Sino-U.S. Earthquake Project and the scientific and technological cooperation in disaster reduction and to discuss the development direction of earthquake engineering and the extensive cooperation in seismic engineering in China, the United States and the world in the new century.
