2009年冬春的大旱牵动着党中央、国务院领导的心。灾情发生后,中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席胡锦涛,中共中央政治局常委、国务院总理温家宝,中共中央政治局常委、国务院副总理李克强相继作出重要批示,要求各级领导对此要高度重视,组织动员一切力量,落实各项抗旱措施,打好这场硬仗。要加大对旱情严重地区抗旱工作的支持力度,增加抗旱投入,帮助旱区克服困难,争取夏粮乃至全年粮食有个好收成,为今年保持经济平稳较快增长打下好基础。
