湖北省第七次党代会以来的四年(1998—2001年),是我省经济发展承上启下、继往开来的四年,是充满挑战和考验的四年。省委带领全省人民认真贯彻党的十五大精神,始终坚持以经济建设为中心,使全省国民经济保持了持续快速健康发展,各项社会事业全面进步,人民生活整体上实现了由温饱向小康的跨越,开创了我省改革开放和社会主义建设的新局面。 一、国民经济稳定增长 经济实力明显增强 国民经济保持稳步增长,经济结构进一步优化。
