1973年能源危机发生以来,国外高度重视能源节约,在冶金、机械等工业领域里大力开展电炉节能研究。当前,电阻炉的主要节能技术是应用耐火纤维炉衬以及电阻直接加热;感应电炉节能的主要动向包括冷却水废热回收、炉料预热、联合供热以及选用高效率的变频设备;电弧炉节能的主要研究课题是炉料预热以及烟气废热的回收。
