当今世界,教育已由知识教育发展到了能力教育,而思维能力则是众多能力之首。在英语教学中,由于受传统教学观念的影响,教学偏重于英语语言知识的传授,加之应试教育的作用,许多高中生整天忙于听课、做笔记,或埋首于题海之中,根本无暇思考问题。应试能力得到强化,而思维能力却弱化了。长此以往,学生思路狭窄、片面、迟钝甚至凝滞。追根究底,问题在于学生缺乏必要的思维训练和正确的思维方法,英语语言运用能力差。因此,在英语课堂教学中,加强学生的思维训练,提高实践能力,不仅是大纲的目标要求,也是培养社会人才的需要。
