邓小平强调用社会效益检验文艺作品的审美价值，以满足人民群众的审美需要作为文艺作品的价值取向，并且追求审美价值载体内容和形式的完美性，追求审美形态的丰富多样性。只有用邓小平审美价值观作指导，才能创作出满足人民群众审美需要的富有审美价值的文艺作品。“一切向钱”看的媚俗的创作倾向，横移现代主义的创作倾向，“表现自我”、“非英雄化”、“零度感情”等创作倾向都是错误的。
Deng Xiaoping emphasized that the social value should be used to test the aesthetic value of literary and artistic works so as to satisfy the aesthetic needs of the masses as the value orientation of literary and artistic works and pursue the perfection of content and form of aesthetic value carriers and pursue the rich diversity of aesthetic forms. Only by using Deng Xiaoping’s aesthetic values as a guide can we create literary and artistic works rich in aesthetic value that satisfy the aesthetic needs of the masses. The kitsch tendency of creation for “all money”, the creative tendency of transverse movement of modernism, the creative tendencies of “self-expression”, “non-heroic” and “zero-degree emotion” are all wrong.
