1999年,江苏全省在省委、省政府的领导下,大力推进经济结构调整和国有企业战略性改组,积极采取各项扩大内需的措施,增强经济增长的拉动力,使全省经济在比较复杂的内外环境中稳定发展。全年完成国内生产总值7700.56亿元,居全国第二位,比上年增长10.1%,增幅高于全国平均水平3个百分点。其中,第一产业增加值1014.46亿元,增长4.5%;第二产业增加值3906.40亿元,增长11.2%;第三产业增加值2779.70亿元,增长10.0%。全省人均国内生产总值达10669元,比上年提高9.6%。企业经济效益好转,城乡居民收入增加,基本完成了全年经济和社会发展调控预期目标。
