The paper discusses in detail the process selection of PascuaLama ore and the design conception of a large-scale countercurrent condensate concentrator. In view of the unique mineralogical properties of PascuaLama ores producing acidic pulp, the structural materials of the countercurrent decantation unit were carefully evaluated. In order to minimize equipment layout requirements, V-belt horizontal sand pumps arranged side by side is more appropriate. Electronic variable frequency drives are used to drive devices with power ratings below 3 70kW while hydraulic variable speed drives are used to drive devices with power ratings greater than 3 70kW
