The ocean accounts for 71% of the earth’s surface. It lives more than 200,000 species of organisms and its biomass is measured in billions of tons. It can convert 3 billion tons of aquatic food for humans every year while maintaining the balance of marine ecology. The per capita can reach 560 kilograms. . However, since the 1990s, the amount of marine catches has been decreasing year by year, and the production of carp and flounder has fallen. The prospects for octopus and yellow croaker have been unfavourable. Two fifths of wild fish have reached their limit and one quarter have been overfished. Disputes on fishery resources have been raging. Countries have been arguing over fishing quotas, and ocean-going fishing boats have also been fighting. simple
