有关正常妇女绝经的研究,国内、外报导均极少。它是与妇幼保健、妇产科临床工作均有重要关系。本文对高原地区(海拔2,000米～4,000米)牧区、农村共18个自然村(人口:1000以上),城市三个居民区和其它许多机关、学校、厂矿等单位有月经妇女共5820例,其中不同民族849例绝经妇女进行了逐户调查和分析,其结果如下:平均绝经年龄;全地区为47.36岁;其中撤拉族44.13岁;回族48.53岁; 藏族46.92岁;土族47.12岁;汉族47.94岁?高海拔的藏族(3,000～4,400米)较低海拔的回族(2,200～2290米)平均早2岁左右;海拔在2000米上下的汉、土、回族相差1/2～1岁。城市为48.75岁,农村,牧区分别为47.25,46.29岁。土、回族与婚姻生活年限有较密切的正相关,P<0.01。
