Before the “Cultural Revolution”, I had created a movie script entitled Voyage, which was “stillborn” due to the lack of appetite of Zhang Chunqiao. In the early 1960s, according to the suggestion of Shi Ximin, secretary of the CPC Shanghai Party Committee Secretariat, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee Propagated the task of deploying new films and recruiting more than 10 workers, including Hu Wanchun and myself. One day, we held a symposium at the Shanghai Film Studio Small Auditorium. We first watched two feature films of modern themes.
