On December 20, 2010, Oxford Catalysts Group Inc. announced that it has obtained the first large-scale commercial FT synthesis microchannel reactor contract for its biomass-to-oil project from its partner SGC Energy, Inc. (FT) The channel reactor, consisting of hundreds of thousands of full-length microchannels, will be applied to a 25 lb / day medium-sized unit at G (u) ssing to produce liquid fuel from biomass. The medium-sized unit was designed to operate on a small-scale distributed production of biofuels through a Fischer-Tropsch (F-T) synthesis reaction operated jointly by SGCE and Velocys, a U.S. member of the Oxford Catalyst Group. Existing validation devices are operated by Oxford Catalyst Group in conjunction with SGCE using a combination of F-T microchannel anti-microchannels composed of more than 900 full-length microchannels
