瑞典的拉蒂M40 9mm手枪是一支颇为优秀的军用手枪,它是芬兰的拉蒂L35 9mm手枪的仿制型,其设计师是芬兰的著名枪械设计奇才艾莫·约翰尼斯·拉蒂(Aimo Johannes Lahti)(1896～1970)。拉蒂一生设计了许多武器,除了拉蒂L35手枪以外,还设计了苏米M31 9mm冲锋枪,拉蒂-萨洛伦塔M26 7.62mm轻机枪以及拉蒂M39 20mm反坦克枪等多种不同口径、不同种类的枪械。其中苏米M31 9mm冲锋枪是苏芬冬季战争中表现最为出色的一支冲锋枪,苏联PPSh-41冲锋枪就参考了该枪的结构。这些武器为芬军在屡次作战中取得良好战果提供了重要保障,对当时全世界轻武器的发展也产生了重大影响。
