《汕头市志》全面记述了汕头海洋事业的历史和现状、潮汕沿海城乡的人文风情、潮汕港口经贸和外事活动 ,体现了鲜明的海洋文化特色 ,并在汕头市实施“海洋活市”战略、把汕头建设成现代化国际港口城市中 ,为建设高层次的海洋产业提供信息服务 ,为汕头作为港口城市参与国际竞争提供资讯服务 ,为造就港口城市的新型建设者提供教化服务。志书的海洋文化特色发挥了应有的作用。
“History of Shantou City” comprehensively describes the history and current situation of Shantou’s marine undertakings, the cultural customs of rural and urban areas in Chaoshan, the economic, trade and foreign affairs activities of Chaoshan ports, embodies the distinctive features of marine culture, and implements the “live marine market strategy” in Shantou. To build Shantou into a modern international port city, provide information services for the construction of a high-level marine industry, provide information services for Shantou to participate in international competition as a port city, and provide education services for new-type builders who build port cities. The book’s marine culture has played its due role.
