Comrade Li Jinquan “several figures in the dictionary advertisement” (containing “Chinese learning” 1990 the second period) article on the current dictionary advertising in the confusion of digital usage criticism, I fully agree. In fact, the phenomenon of improper use of such figures not only in the dictionary advertisement, there are occasional book title. It is reported that recently a reader in Tianjin spend 32 yuan 5 cents, bought from the bookstore similar to the “sea” as a thick copy of the book - “why”, take a look at home, the book a total of only 2400 Article, the book name and the actual serious discrepancies, can not help even call fooled. “Ten million why” title number attractive enough, want readers to buy this book, most also fancy “ten million” words. In the past only heard of the Ministry of “one hundred thousand why”, this new “why” content is certainly more than “one hundred thousand why” more substantial and more perfect. Seeking new and more consumer psychology and the thirst for knowledge, it is natural to arouse the reader’s desire to buy this book, coupled with carelessness of some people, want to be fooled a handful. It is not uncommon for the book to contain numbers in ancient and modern times. Taking modern books as an example, there are titles such as “100 Questions in Linguistics”, “200 Forms of Logic” and “365 Night Songs” Modern Chinese eight hundred words “that use the number, whether in the number of the number or the exact number, we must strive to match the name or broadly consistent, so as to ensure the authenticity of the title itself and the author, the credibility of the publishing house. It is true that the title language is allowed to have a certain degree of ambiguity and ambiguity, but there is a limit, almost Caixing. For example, ”800 words in modern Chinese," received more than 800 terms, said
