《戏剧报》开展如何正确评价传统剧目的讨论,我认为这个题目抓得很好。我也想就这个问题谈一些不成熟的意见,就教于前辈、专家和同行。一对戏曲传统剧目评价之争,从“五四”时期开始,几十年来,包括建国以后,有着一个曲折、反复、徘徊的复杂过程。我认为,要总结“五四”以来的经验教训,更要总结建国以后的经验教训,也要总结最近这几年来的经验教训。对传统剧目的评价问题,不能随风倒,不能一刀切,少犯“只知其一,不知其二”
