引种研究表明,原产中亚热带高海拔地区(贵州黔东南)的乳源木莲能适应江苏宜兴低海拔丘陵气候,表现出适应性强,抗寒、耐旱,成活保存率高的优良特性。乳源木莲树高年生长呈双峰型,分别在7、9月出现。速生期5-9月。栽后3年速生。幼龄期未见寒害、旱害和病虫害。栽后7～8a可达绿化苗用标准。树高3.57～4.03m、胸径5～8cm;具有引种潜力,可选为城市森林建设优新景观绿化树种应用。
