近年来,受我国经济发展部分失控及物质文明与精神文明建设一手硬一手软政策失误的影响,图书情报事业特别是公共图书馆事业的发展严重受挫。处于这样一个“低谷”发展时期,特别需要我们冷静地反思过去,科学地把握和规划未来。湖南省图书馆韩继章同志寄来的这篇对话形式的文章,着眼于图书情报事业发展的内在规律,对过去、现在与未来的诸多理论与实践问题进行了深刻而独到的思索,疾呼我们的理论研究和实践探索回到现实的土壤上,读来颇多启发。
