地膜覆盖是当代植棉技术的重大发展。南方棉区有没有推广应用价值?我们连续进行了三年试验示范:一九八二年,全县布了十个点,共计试验面积15.02亩,平均比露地棉增产10.74%;一九八三年,全县地膜棉扩大到650亩,平均亩产皮棉188.3斤,比露地棉亩增28.1斤,增产17.5%;一九八四年地膜棉发展到2100亩,占全省地膜棉总面积的40%以上,普遍获得丰收。实践再一次证明,地膜覆盖不但适宜于北方棉区,在南方也有一定的推广价值,是开创棉花高产丰收的新途径。
